Sid Meier’s Civilization VI now available for Mac
Perhaps no one works harder than Aspyr Media when it comes to pushing out Mac games beside their PC counterpart. That’s part of why we love them. Another reason is because that game is sometimes something from the insanely popular Sid Meier’s Civilization series, as it is today. Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI is now available for Mac gamers via Steam.
I could waste your time here telling you what Civ VI is, but you know that already. In fact, you’ve probably already purchased and are playing the game; Civ fans aren’t the type to sit around and wait for press coverage to tell them when a new game is available, after all. But just so I can say I’ve done my job, here are some details from this morning’s announcement:
Civilization® VI offers new ways to engage with your world: cities now physically expand across the map, active research in technology and culture unlocks new potential, and competing leaders will pursue their own agendas based on their historical traits as you race for one of five ways to achieve victory in the game. Civ VI is the sequel to Civilization® V, which is amongst the best selling Aspyr Mac games of all time.
If you haven’t purchased Civ VI yet, there are some important things you may want to know.
- The Mac version is currently available via Steam only (supporting Steam Play); the Mac App Store release will soon follow.
- Either way, the game costs $59.99.
- However, you can also order the Anniversary Limited Edition via Amazon and GameStop.
That’s about enough of that. Get to buying, get to playing, and get to faking an illness so you can avoid other things like work and familial obligations for a while.
