Snoopy’s Town Tale will be told November 5th
I’m a legit fan of Peanuts. It helps that I have an aunt who is a legit fan, as she had countless books from the early years of the comic strip, and that was some very, very funny stuff. The made-for-TV cartoons were comical enough and certainly had some sweet moments, and I’m confident the movie that opens this Friday will hit the right buttons, too. But if you really want to see why these characters continue to be popular today, you should go back to the 1950s.
Or maybe just play Peanuts: Snoopy’s Town Tale, which will launch on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch this Thursday.
It’s going to look pretty much like this…
…and it’s going to be free to play. In it, “Players can join Snoopy and other fan-favorite PEANUTS characters to build, explore, and go on quests through the iconic locations from the comic strip.”
In other words, you’ve likely played it countless times before—be it with The Simpsons, the Minions, and what have you—but even if the gameplay is familiar, the charming Peanuts characters should make it worth a look. That, and isn’t it good to know there’s at least one classic franchise left out there that hasn’t been taken over and destroyed by Disney?
