PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX is back on the big screen
That, of course, is assuming you have an Apple TV connected to the big screen of your television.
PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX has been out for iOS for a while now, and currently carries a 4-1/2 star rating in the iTunes App Store. That’s a pretty impressive score for a game with a $4.99 asking price, considering you kids today and your adversity to actually paying for things.
Now, as much as I enjoy iPhone and iPad gaming, getting PAC-MAN back on a larger screen will be a welcome throwback to my days of playing the original arcade game at the hometown movie theater. I think that’s where I played it most…perhaps that was Space Invaders or Missile Command. Hard to recall.
PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX for Apple TV will include the same features and gameplay as on mobile devices, but rather than using their fingers, players will utilize the revolutionary Siri remote to tap and swipe their way through the game.
The quick timing and quicker adjustments of PAC-MAN played with a touch device? Yikes! Hopefully, there’s MFi support so we can use our gamepads, lest my Siri remote be thrown against the wall in frustration.
In PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX, players venture through 132 intense mazes, collecting dots and power pellets in order to destroy pesky ghosts. There are a total of 10 zones and three different game modes that can be explored, and players must try to keep up their momentum by successfully navigating the infamous dark levels and avoiding ghosts to climb the leaderboards in attempts to become a PAC-MAN Champion.
PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX is currently available for $4.99 in the iOS Store for AppleTV. There are no in-app purchases, so that’s less expensive than half an hour at the local truck stop game room. Grab it in the iTunes App Store, then just let your Apple TV know you’ve done so.
